What did you learn with this action?: | Many people decided to drop what they were doing in order to do what was needed. These men had families, dreams, and desires that were risked (and in some cases terminated) because of the courage they displayed. It is important to honor those that fell and from those that survive as well. We can learn a great deal from their examples. |
What inspired you about this individual to do something in your life to make a difference?: | In a letter written by Garman’s commanding officer, it is stated that the young soldier went beyond the call of duty to save some of the fellow soldiers in his platoon. This is something that would motivate me to be more courageous for the sake of what is right. |
